The newly formed Awesöme Big Band consisting of 21 members of the Awesöme Orchestra Collective, will be performing two incredible sets featuring guest artist Moorea Dickason (formerly with the art-rock band MoeTar, and currently with new projects Raze the Maze and HIVE vocal group) and local MC Hungastryke (Kwansah Madani) as host and emcee. The dance floor will be hopping and the photo booth will give you the perfect opportunity to retake your original prom photo or create some new prom memories! There will be fun raffle surprises, a few very special live-auction items, an Awesöme Fund-A-Need, and the evening will culminate in the crowning of the “Most Awesöme Human!”
In between sets there will be delectable bites from local eatery, Two Local Girls (included in the price of admission), a full list of beer and wine (huge thanks to Fort Point, Drake’s, Lagunitas, and Vingo for the donations and support), and AÖC’s very own version of the prom-classic spiked punch. Want unlimited drink privileges? No problem––just make sure to purchase the “Open Bar” ticket option! Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.
This first-ever Awesöme Pröm is a fundraiser that will provide Awesöme Orchestra Collective the support they need for the rest of their 2019 season and beyond, including (but not limited to) commissions by local composers, featured orchestral works by female composers, and collaborations with local artists! Rather than have an online fundraiser as they have in the past, AÖC wanted to bring together their community of supporters, musicians, and listeners to celebrate making Awesöme local music possible. Please join AÖC to keep the musical joy flowing through 2019 and beyond!

VOLUNTEERS: Wanna help out in exchange for a free ticket? We are asking for 5-6 volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and some duties during the event itself. DRESS CODE: Whatever makes you feel Fly As F*ck. No, seriously. We want all attendees to feel comfortable and festive. Have an old prom dress in your closet? Your uncle's tux from 1977? Or would you prefer to embrace the 80's in all their glamour and rock a neon scrunchie and leg warmers? Totally up to you!
