AÖC Digital Adventure #3: Brahms 4.4

Join us for another virtual session on Sunday, June 28 from 3-5pm PST as we rehearse and workshop the final movement of Brahms's Symphony No. 4! All are welcome and encouraged to participate, especially any musicians that live outside the Bay Area.

For those of you who were able to join us for Digital Adventure #2, you know how this will go. For any new community members, let us explain:

We've taken our sessions into the digital realm by bringing our community together virtually (on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch) to live stream an open rehearsal. This isn't a Zoom call or video chat - no one will be able to hear you or see you - instead, you'll see a fully edited video of Dave conducting along to a live recording of the piece. We'll stop and start, workshop sections, and provide insight about techniques, with cameo greetings from our Awesöme Ambassadors, musings from our Resident Awesöme Musicologist, Molly Phelan (of Canon Fodder), and more!

Take a peek at our event trailer below so you know what to expect:

What You’ll Need

  • You do not need to sign up to participate and you're encouraged to participate in as much or as little of the event as you like.

  • Download the sheet music ahead of time (from our G Drive here) and print it out or load it up on a secondary device.

  • Listen to Brahms Symphony No. 4, Mvmt. IV and practice ahead of time to maximize the fun :)

  • Have your music stand be as close to your computer or laptop as possible so that you can see your sheet music and Dave's conducting at the same time.

  • Set up external speakers (optional)

  • If you have any questions, join our AÖC Community Slack and let us know!

We hope you're able to join us and connect with our community of Awesöme musicians. We sure miss you all! After the rehearsal (which will last about 75 minutes) Dave Möschler and Resident Awesöme Musicologist Molly Phelan will be doing a Q&A, so stick around once we're done playing and ask questions in the chat (on any of the three platforms).

We'll also be hosting an after-session Zoom social hang (here's the link to joinMeeting ID: 815 6055 1566). All are welcome to hop in and say hello once the Q&A is over, which should be around 4:30pm PST.
