Session 94: Film Music After Dark

  • The Exploratorium The Embarcadero San Francisco, CA, 94111 United States (map)

An event with Halloween-themed film music, fun interactive science exhibits, AND costumes? Sign us up! No, literally—make sure to sign yourselves up for our most popular event of the year—Session 94 at The Exploratorium in SF! Costumes encouraged!

Join us as we take a wild romp through Danny Elfman’s devilish score to Beetlejuice, followed by a concert suite of Bernard Herrmann’s music to his and Hitchcock’s 1958 magnum opus, Vertigo. After years of popular demand, we’ll close the evening out with excerpts from the 1980 space opera Krull featuring some of James Horner’s most epic film music ever written!

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

We have space for: 8 flutes, 7 oboes, 9 clarinets, 8 bassoons, 12 horns, 10 trumpets, 11 trombones, 4 tubas, 8 percussion, 3 harps, 5 keyboards, 16 first violins, 16 second violins, 16 violas, 16 cellos, 8 double basses.

Be sure to sign up before the deadline on October 17.  You can expect an email from your Awesöme Ambassadors with specific info by October 17 EOD  (check your spam filters if this is your first session). If you are signing up after October 17, you might not get your Ambassador email until August 14. Please be patient—they have a lot of information to collect before emailing everyone.

Waitlist Protocol

Our community of musicians is growing (which is AWESOME), but sometimes that means that some sections fill up quickly (especially flutes and clarinets). You can still sign-up via the form, but if you notice on the form that your instrument has a “waitlist” tag on it, don’t despair! We usually take players off the waitlist as some folks’ plans change. When that happens, you’ll be notified by your Section Ambassadors via email.

AUDIENCE
