Session 71: '90s NightLife @ Cal Academy

  • California Academy of Sciences 55 Music Concourse Drive San Francisco, CA, 94118 United States (map)

Run, Sonic, Run! We're thrilled to be heading back to the California Academy of Sciences for another NightLife Session and this time we'll be playing your favorite '90s tunes and film scores. Join us for Session 71: '90s NightLife on Thursday, September 19 from 6:30-9:30pm as we take you on a nostalgic romp through the music of one of the best decades, including pieces from Forrest Gump, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Hook. Sign up early to guarantee a spot––we had so many folks sign up to play the last Cal Academy NightLife Session in March that we had to eventually put a cap on sign-ups, so avoid the waitlist by signing up today!

*** ALL MUSICIAN SECTIONS ARE NOW FULL. Please email your section's Ambassador to be added to the waitlist ***

WHEN: Thursday, September 19, 2019, 6:30–9:30pm

WHERE: California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco. We're playing on the side patio where we played last NightLife, so dress accordingly!
*** Players MUST enter through the back entrance at 75 Nancy Pelosi Dr. to get their free badges. Please do not come through the outside driveway.***

COST: Free for musicians. Audience members will need to purchase NightLife tickets ($13) through the Cal Academy Website here or at the door (unless it sells out).

TRANSPORTATION SUGGESTIONS: We strongly suggest carpooling and ride-sharing for this location as there is NO RESERVED PARKING for us. The California Academy of Sciences has a lot of tips for public transportation options, street parking, garage parking (there's a garage right next door - $17 flat-rate), and driving directions: https://www.calacademy.org/getting-here.

Reference recordings for all pieces can be found linked above.

Please bring music stands and battery-powered stand lights, and layers as we'll be playing outdoors in the semi-exposed patio (Same location as Session 64). We'll provide the chairs and sheet music. All players will be granted free admission to the event plus a drink ticket.

The sign-up deadline for all sections is Sunday, September 15. Once that has passed, expect an email from your Awesöme Ambassadors with specific info and part assignments within a few days (check your spam filters if this is your first session). Email your ambassadors if you haven't heard back by Tuesday, September 17. (Please be patient—they have a lot of information to collect before emailing everyone.)
